Our Mission

Dr. Sheldon L. Gathers is a Professor of Leadership, Executive Advisor, and Managing Director of Sustainable Leadership Group, a management consulting practice. His area of focus includes Leadership Development, Organizational Behavior, Diversity, Equity and Inclusion. Previously he spent 25 years in banking and retired as Senior Vice President of Bank of America. As BOFA’s Consumer Sales and Service Executive in Atlanta, he was responsible for 350 banks and 3500 associates in GA and TN. He held several executive roles during his career in Consumer Banking and Private Wealth Management. He is a Certified Black Belt in Six Sigma Design.

 

Dr. Gathers not only achieved success in the financial services industry, but also in academia. He received his Doctorate of Education in Organizational Leadership from Gardner Webb University, where he remains on the faculty in the School of Business. He has an MBA from California State University, Dominguez Hills. He also graduated from the Consumer Banker Association’s Graduate School of Retail Bank Management at the University of Virginia. He earned his Bachelors of Business Administration from North Carolina Central University.
